Meet the Instructor

Desi has always felt a deep connection to her dreams, letting them guide her through both her everyday life and her creative world. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing from Northridge State University, and her love of supporting fellow writers eventually led her to her role as Operations Manager at Resources for Writers.

Over the years, Desi has shared her work and voice throughout the Bay Area, participating in readings and panels at FogCon, Lit Quake, Beast Crawl, and FIYAH Magazine’s Afro-Futurist Reading. She also organized and moderated the Beyond Borders Multicultural Book Club, creating a welcoming space for stories that cross cultures and spark conversation.

Her writing has appeared in midnight & indigo and Health & Spirituality Magazine. Desi is currently at work on a novel that explores how the power of dreams can help heal the parts of ourselves we often avoid—allowing us to step more fully into who we’re meant to be.
