Joslyn Housley is an American playwright, librettist, and editor. She is the author of the award-winning historical drama, The Silver Thread and the story writer for the 2021 film Hal King, an r&b opera based on Shakespeare’s Henry 4 parts 1 & 2. Her latest project is the upcoming Sarah Rector: The Musical.

Joslyn won the 2012 Hudson Valley Writer’s Center’s contest: Setting the Stage; in 2013, her work was chosen as a PlayLab Selection and won the StageWrite Honorarium at Great Plains Theatre Conference; she is a semi-finalist for the 2020 Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s National Playwrights Conference; she is also a semi-finalist for the 2020 Bay Area Playwrights Festival; she is a finalist for Landing Theatre’s 2020 New American Voices; most recently, her work was selected for the official program at the 2021 Women Playwrights International Conference/Montreal (postponed due to the pandemic).
